HIV Self-testing to Empower Prevention Choices in Sex Workers

This randomized trial tests whether HIV self-testing increases PrEP adherence, changes sexual risk behaviors and empowers prevention choices in female, male and transgender sex workers in Uganda. Primary collaborators are mentors at Makerere University, UW, Harvard Medical School and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Funding is provided through an NIH K Emerging Global Leader Award through 2022.
