Pre-treatment HIV drug resistance detection by oligonucleotide ligation assay (OLA)

This randomized controlled trial is determining whether detection of pre-treatment drug resistance with OLA can decrease virologic failure. Cost implications, resistance patterns in populations, and development of a point-of-care assay (POC) is also be examined. Primary collaborators are Coptic Hospital and Seattle Children's Research Institute. Funding is provided by NIH
