Evaluating the effectiveness, efficiency and cost of ART service delivery models in Uganda and Zambia

This is a multicenter study designed to evaluate the performance of health facilities in Uganda and Zambia in the delivery of ART services. Facility performance will be evaluated with regard to effectiveness (measured by rates of viral load suppression, retention and mortality), efficiency and cost.  Modifiable determinants of facility performance will also be identified.  The ultimate goal is to elucidate models of ART service delivery that maximizes effectiveness and efficiency, while minimizing cost. Funding is provided through a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
