The UW/Fred Hutch CFAR Developmental Core is pleased to announce a second round of this year's Investment of Catalytic Funds to Access Resources Awards (iCFAR), a CFAR Core services voucher mechanism. The purpose of this new award program is to provide enhanced support for short-term innovative HIV-related pilot projects that leverage existing CFAR services, data, and/or specimens, and will likely generate sufficient data for subsequent applications for future research funding. Applications are due Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

GPSS travel grants applications for winter quarter conferences (March 13 to April 23) are due February 20. Early Spring for(conferences Apr 24 to June 4) are due April 3. Spring and Summer conferences (June 5 to August 31) are due May 15. UW Seattle graduate and professional students currently enrolled and in good academic standing may apply for this travel grant. Active participation at an academic conference is mandatory and proof of acceptance is required with this application.

Nominate a Staff member for the PSO 'Standing Ovation' Award. This award recognizes: Outstanding professional work; Professional contributions to the University and constituents including classified staff, colleagues, community members, faculty, students and patients; Excellence and commitment through service above and beyond the normal established expectations. Nominations due March 29.

Meena Vashee Scholarship provides $2000 to a current or incoming undergraduate student at the University of Washington who is a survivor of domestic abuse, or child of a survivor with support to alleviate some of the financial strain of higher education. Deadline March 29.

Call for abstracts for The Graduate and Professional Students Senate (GPSS) on April 19 in the HUB from all departments. are called to submit abstracts. Abstracts are due February 20, 2019.

Submit your application for the UW Department of Global Health and the Center for AIDS and STD 27th Annual Principles of STD/HIV Research Course which will be held July 22 - August 1, at the University of Washington in Seattle. General Application Deadline: April 12. Scholarship application deadline: March 15.

Register for the 15th Annual Western Regional Global Health Conference "Criminalization of the Body: Life, Law and Liberation" that will be held at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA on April 26-28, 2019.

Apply for the Colombian Healthcare System and Public Health in Colombia, a four-week interdisciplinary course, students will have a unique opportunity to explore the post-conflict socio-political situation in Colombia, the Colombian healthcare system, and the public health challenges that the country faces both in general and in relation to the post-conflict environment.
